Fabric Care Instructions

95% Viscose from Bamboo | 5% Spandex

Machine or hand wash cold, gentle cycle with like colors and mild soap. Do not use bleach. Tumble dry low or lay flat to dry. Low iron if desired. For best results, wash separately. 

We recommend washing your YALA with Tru Earth Eco-Strip Laundry Detergent

Note: Some eventual pilling is common with all untreated, natural fibers. To minimize pilling, wash all items inside out and reduce machine dry time. Or just hang or lay flat to dry. Avoid fabric softeners and dryer balls. Wash separate from heavier, rougher fabrics like denim.

For longer life: Wear more. Wash less.

Opal Swing top

"I've been looking at this top for years, wondering how it would fit my short torso and sensitive skin. I've had a double mastectomy (after a TRAM flat AND implants that had to be removed) so I have scars and bumps instead of breasts. The fabric is lovely on my skin, and although it does cling a bit, I've gotten less self-conscious of my scars. The thing is though, I ordered a medium based on other customer comments, and maybe I should have gotten a large, which is my usual size. I feel hyper sensitive to the seam in back every time I try the shirt on, and I hope it doesn't impact my ability to wear it. The medium fits fine, it's flowy, but I am used to big shirts now."

Our Story

Hi, we’re Rachel and Tif, YALA’s Co-Owners and besties. We started working at YALA more than 20 years ago, worked our way up, and took ownership in 2019. We’ve been here through a lot of changes, but one thing hasn’t changed: we’re still here, still dreaming up softer things, and still doing business with heart, intention, and a whole lot of care.

Growing with YALA from seed to successful business gave us the foundation and philosophy that we guide YALA with today. Our goal is transparency so that you know we are a brand you can trust.

With sustainable and responsible production a top priority, we choose organically grown bamboo as our primary fabric for reasons exclusive to this single, prolific plant.
