FedEx Small Business Grant Recipients 2024

It’s been a challenging year for small businesses. We’ve felt the pinch alongside everyone who is navigating the inflation challenges. Couple that with the rapidly changing algorithms and monetization of Google and Meta, and the future can feel uncertain.

Like most small businesses, we’ve had to get creative this year. We trimmed the fat and promoted more frequent sales. We even made a team effort to apply for a grant that felt far-fetched at the time, but it paid off!

FedEx Small Business Grant Recipients

Celebrate with us! We are thrilled to announce that YALA has been awarded a 20K Fed Ex Small Business Grant! We are one of ten Second-Place award recipients selected from thousands of applicants and one of just two Oregon businesses to receive the grant.

FedEx Small Business Grant Application Process

The FedEx Small Business Grants Program was established in 2012 and provides yearly awards to US-based entrepreneurs to enhance their businesses. The application process includes submitting a video highlighting who you serve, how you utilize FedEx in your operations, and what you will do with the grant.

Extra credit is given to businesses that display:
- A unique or innovative product or service offering
- Sustainable/environmentally friendly product or business practices
- Giving back to the community or environment

YALA's commitment to responsible practices from harvest to production and packaging, waste reduction methods, employee care, sustainable certifications, and giving back to our local community are all factors that helped us stand out in the application process.

‘Creating the video was an intimidating task that almost discouraged us from applying, but we are so glad we followed through. Thanks to this generous grant, we’ve secured a larger warehouse to better accommodate our inventory, shipping needs, and offices, which was precisely the goal! Spread the word

Any small business that utilizes FedEx services can apply for this grant in 2025, and we encourage it! Spread the word to a small business you love and want to see thrive. It may be the boost they need to upgrade equipment, launch a new product, or secure a better work or retail location.

FedEx Grant Recipient Awards Ceremony

Tif and Rae are looking forward to representing YALA and attending an award ceremony at FedEx Headquarters in Memphis, Tennessee, along with the other ten small business grant recipients: Bombi, Better Boba, Bundle x Joy, Erie Cotton Products, Jasper Yeast, Locsanity, Madhu Chocolate, Marky Sparky Toys, and Tandem Drums.

After that, we’ll be busy bees transitioning to our new location across town! As they say, it takes a village, and we need all the help we can get.
